Filkin' around: I Fight Dragons

The music surrounding fandom today is light years ahead of the "filk" that I grew up on as a young nerdling in the early eighties. All we really had back then was the odd soundtrack, whatever some fan put together for a con or Weird Al Jankovic. Period. Now there's awesome groups like Abney Park, the global phenomenon of Wizard Rock and local groups like I Fight Dragons. This local band uses old school video game sounds and infuses them with an infectious indie sensibility. I'm liking them a bit more with every listen.
